![]() Put that card onto the battlefield and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order. Great sideboard tech with just a couple of Restrictions!. Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal an artifact card. This little combo has helped me out so much to stop or delay agro / combo decks while I am developing my mana base, while also looking for Through the Breach and Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. Madcap limits what type of cards you have in your sideboard as you can’t have artifacts in the sideboard…or you can but then you can’t use them in the same matchups as you would use Madcap. There are couple of restrictions to having these cards in your sideboard, first, it takes up five slots leaving you with only ten other slots for sideboards cards. Humans do have Reflector Mage and also sometimes bring in something to deal with Moon but I have played this matchup a couple of times and the game goes on so long that your able to hard cast it back on to the battlefield or if they do try to destroy you can bounce and tap their creature with cryptic command.ĭecks like Dredge can have natures claim if they think you may bring in Relics or Grafdiggers. Decks which won’t have a way to kill if they don’t know it is coming, against Bogles or Spirits they do have Path in main but have a typical tend to trim them down as they think Snapcaster is the only target. The amount of time it takes the opponent to. Typical matchups that I have put this in against are Elves, Dredge, Grixis Death Shadow, Eldrazi Aggro, Zoo, Burn, Huamns, Spirits and Bogles. Madcap Ponza is a ponza deck that uses the combo of (Madcap Experiment-Platinum Emperion) to lock up the game. We want to be putting this combo in vs agro decks or combo decks. The Way Madcap Experiment is worded we have to do it all in order of the card to resolve the complete spell. We put other 20 cards to the bottom of the library in a random order. We then count up the cards which have been revealed so 21 and we take 21 but our life total can’t change now as Platinum Emperion is on the battlefield. We have revealed 20 card before we hit Platinum Emperion and we place it onto the battlefield meaning now our life total can’t change. Only having Platinum Emperion as the only artifact we can hit means that we won’t die no matter how many cards we begin to reveal. You have just cast Madcap Experiment to find your Platinum Emperion. Madcap Experiment deals damage to you equal to the number of. This sideboard combo came after I kept losing to burn / aggro decks all the time and I needed a way to stop them. Put that card onto the battlefield and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order. The most recent add to these decks which I have been using in the sideboard is Madcap Experiment with Platinum Emperion which is very useful against fast agro and decks won’t be able to deal with an 8/8 which says ” Your Life Total Can’t Change”. Being able to win on turn 4 for having the right 2 cards in hand is pretty cool. I've been having some success in R/W running mass hysteria, 1 blightsteel, madcap experiment angel's grace and intervention pact. Happy days, really. The deck I play in Modern is Breach Moon / Blue Moon and similar controlling Blue / Red decks. You can also run madcap without any artis for the guaranteed life gain if you hit that combo, for decks that can use that. Spellstutter did nothing against the resolved Vial, of course. In my first game of the final of our first event I dropped one t1 and my Fae opponent put his head on the desk as the boys pinged his early drops and then got reset by Flickerwisp and bounced to repeat the trick. My first list ran a couple of Icatian Javeliners, plus Thalia, Arbiter, Stonecloaker, Vial et al, but it was the Javeliners I remember. Rather than sneak attack, I built around madcap experiment (with platinum emperion) to opt for speed- lower mana cost, and having live top-decks even if hellbent (if you just draw a madcap, you are still live). ![]() The general idea is a more aggressive take on Sneak & Show. I was normally found in the D n T thread of MTGS discussing with guys like Dr Wurm(or Was it Worm?) and other Mtgs stalwarts. Would love some help polishing a deck I am trying to brew. ![]() I loaned the Tron and burn type lists, whilst I myself enjoyed playing hatebears- D n T. 434 x Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle 2 x Windswept Heath 4 x Wooded Foothills 37 x Mountain. I once owned the whole of Mtg top 8 that was 2% or over- when I started I bought in heavily to the then nascent format- sold my spare overpriced shocks to fund fetches- great move that meant I could own loads of decks to loan out. Due to the mana ramp suite, this deck can reliably cast Madcap Experiment on turn 3, can realistically hard cast Platinum Emperion in the late game, and can use the time bought by Platinum Emperion to set up a Valakut kill.
